"at once" a little dreamlike, a little searching, a little rediscovery, and a lot left to learn...
at once
always looking for myself
in this space of green
and velvet-lined laughter.
lighter shades pulled up
to encompass little beyond blue.
then i thought a resemblence--
somewhat silvery, moves
into flesh-colored arms, and
soft sounds filter my voice,
reach my ears.
recognition of an off-time
sincere symphony.
orange winds, rustic,
feed me forward, find
that lake to drink
a world full of rippling
reflections, and
swallow both
in our space.
my stomach expands to allow
motion, of waves and sails.
shadows are sent, at least,
to combat any sense of
swaying in this dizzy room
of open windows and
neglected music, left to the will
of dirt and winter and
words.
