In the tradition of Shark or Dolphin, minus the Zee meltdown, Ace produced another awesome line of "What's your favorite...?" questions for Zee yesterday. St. Louis Cardinal fans, this is a must-read.
Ace: What's your favorite color?
Z: Red
Ace: What's your favorite food?
Z: Mac-n-cheese-green-beans-and-applesauce. (said as if it's a single word)
Ace: What if you had to pick just one?
Z: No, mac-n-cheese-green-beans-and-applesauce. (FYI-he doesn't like green beans.)
Ace: Oh fine, what's your favorite kind of mac-n-cheese?
Z:
Ace: You know, like which shape?
Z: Oh, Dragons! I like Toothless and Hiccup mac-n-cheese....with green beans and applesauce.
Ace; What's your favorite kind of basketball?
Z: When you throw the ball in the hoop thing and it scores! Yea! I like that kind.
Ace: No, I meant... Oh never mind, what's your favorite kind of baseball?
Z: Hitting the ball with the bat.
Ace: No, I mean, like, do you like the Cardinals? What's your favorite team?
Z: Oh yeah, the Cardinals. I like them all the days of everyday of baseball.
Ace: Me too.
Yep, me too.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of watching the Cardinals play baseball: having Fredbird pretend to eat my head, practicing ballet moves (even though I never took ballet) in the aisles of the left-field bleachers with my girlfriend, Tiffany, learning that whatever bleacher side we are on that day is the best and that it's okay to shout wildly at the opposite side that "____ FIELD SUCKS!", learning to keep score, trying to catch a foul ball (even though I never did), loving Keith Hernandez until he became a Mets, wanting a "The Mets are Pond Scum" tee-shirt because of how much I hated Keith Hernandez, watching Ozzie Smith backflip, singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame," chanting "Charge!" over and over again after the organ's duhda-daduh-da-duh, and never getting tired of doing The Wave.
This season, I can't wait to take my little Cardinal fans to a few ball games. Hopefully I'll feel the same way even if they want to leave early or drag me off to the in-stadium Build-A-Bear.
